image imageChristmas Eve and time for the King’s College service on the radio. I try to listen every year and remember it on in the morning in Bermuda whilst prepping veggies back in the 70’s and 80’s.  This year there seem to be a lot of unfamiliar carols- so not so much singing along.

We’re coming to the end of a veritable eating-fest, from tomorrow then it will be salad leaves for a few days.  We fed friends on Friday, Monday ( and then went to friends in the evening…..how did we eat so much?) and Tuesday…..pulled pork and the slow-cooker- last years’ gift from Theresa- have played a big part in the food along with a version of a syllabus involving spiced rum……served up 3 times!

The meal tomorrow will be just for Mum and us.  We’re having roast pheasant.  We hope to Skype with both my sisters and their families and then induct Mum into the joys of the iPad as she suddenly said yesterday  she wanted to buy a “tablet thing”!!!  Bob immediately ordered a Kindle Fire from Amazon as they are £100 off ATM ….just hope she can get to grips with it then we can Skype her from Spain with video calls.  At least Plus Net  has some excellent offers so internet will  be very cheap and  people staying with her will appreciate being able to get on line.

The town is looking very pretty with its lights and lots of local houses have displays.  It seems almost touching that people go to all this trouble, even during economic hard times.

Bob still snuffling but we’re just hoping any period of infection  has passed.  So, all is  as ready as possible…
